Sunday looks like a day of two halves across the country, with wet and cooler conditions along the coast as Cape Town and Gqeberha see rain showers between 16 and 21 degrees, and Durban catches some slight rain reaching 25. Inland stays largely dry and warmer, with Johannesburg, Polokwane and Mbombela mostly clear and the Northern Cape, North West and Free State climbing towards the high 20s and even 30 in Kimberley. Do bear in mind that extreme veld fire conditions remain a concern in several provinces, so take extra care with anything that could spark a blaze.

- A Cut-off low pressure system developing west of the country, is expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape provinces from Sunday into Monday (13-14/09/2026). The public and small stock farmers are advised that Intermittent showers and thundershowers accompanied heavy downpours at times with possible large amounts of small hail and lightning, significant drop in temperatures over the high-lying areas, windy coastal and interior conditions as well as very rough seas (reaching 4.0 to 4.5 m south of Table Bay).
