Spring is finding its feet across Mpumalanga this week, and it comes with a fair bit of moisture. Mbombela starts off soft with drizzle on Monday around 14 to 24C, then warms nicely to a mostly clear 29C by Wednesday. From Thursday the mercury dips again, with slight rain on Friday and cooler showers and thundershowers on Saturday sitting around 13 to 18C. Sunday brings high level clouds and settled air to round things off.
Over in Emalahleni expect showers and thundershowers early, easing towards a mostly clear 25C later, while Ermelo starts foggy and works its way to a partly cloudy 25C. A Cut-off low pressure system developing west of the country, is expected to affect the Western and Northern Cape provinces from Sunday into Monday (14/09/2026). The public and small stock farmers are advised that intermittent showers and thundershowers accompanied heavy downpours at times with possible large amounts of small hail and lightning, significant drop in temperatures over the high-lying areas, windy coastal and interior conditions as well as very rough seas (reaching 4.0 to 4.5 m south of Table Bay).
