On 29 January, Alan Cumming will be hosting a star-studded virtual performance by magician and mentalist, Jason Suran.
The show is called Reconnected and will be featuring Brooke Shields, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Sienna Miller and more. And, as part of Suran’s outreach to charity organisations, all profits will be donated to a soup kitchen located in New York City.
Who is Jason Suran?
Jason Suran is one of the best mentalists in the United States at the moment. And his psychological illusions have been showcased on TV, radio and during live performances.
Suran, also known as a “mentalist” or “mind-reader”, is known for his “groundbreaking immersive performances”. But basically, he never ceases to leave his audience speechless.
What to expect from this mentalist’s show
Reconnected will be showcasing “60 minutes of jaw-dropping psychological illusions” with “sophisticated acts of mind-reading and deception designed to astonish even those who think they’ve seen it all.”
“Although this show happens on Zoom — believe me, it is an AMAZING piece of theatre — I don’t think I will ever gasp louder or more often than I do during Jason’s show!” Cumming had to say about the show.
Originally, the event would have been organised as a live fundraiser. However, due to the pandemic, it had to be moved to a virtual event.
“Initially the plan was to put on a live fundraiser here in New York. Unfortunately, Omicron had other ideas,” Suran said.
“But that’s the wonderful thing about virtual theatre — not only can we still put up a show to support this wonderful charity, but now we can bring in more people from all over the world who might never have even had a chance to attend or donate.”
