It seems like Andrew Garfield has a bad case of Spider-Man fever since he stepped back in the shoes of Peter Parker…or at least his version of Parker.
Spider-Man: No Way Home showcased three generations of Spider-Man with Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland working together for the first time. But Garfield certainly does not want it to be the last time.
Andrew Garfield loved working with the other Spider-Man actors
In a recent interview on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Andrew said that he is extremely eager to “continue working” with co-stars Holland and Maguire.
“In terms of moving forward with the character, yes I am definitely open to that,” Garfield said. “Again it would have to be something very unique, very special and serving to an audience and in service of the character. There’s something playful and unique and odd and unexpected to be done. I’m not sure what is but if we can figure it out it would be so much fun.”
It’s clear that the chemistry between the three Spider-Men are natural and fun and Garfield even describes their dynamic as “brotherly” and quite “juicy”.
“I would love to continue working with Tobey and with Tom. That kind of three brother dynamic is so juicy.”
Any thoughts on another Spider-Man film for Andrew Garfield?
Even though Garfield would work with his Spider-Man: No Way Home co-stars again in a heartbeat, that doesn’t mean he’s ready for more of the character at the moment.
“But to be honest…I’m so happy and satisfied and grateful to be a part of this that it’s hard to want more right now. I’m really trying to savour this moment with the fans, with the audience, and say thank you. I feel very very humbled and grateful for the response.”
However, if the time came and he was ready, Garfield would love to tap into Peter Parker’s ability to put the greater good before all else.
“Peter and Spider-Man, those characters are all about service, to the greater good and the many. He’s a working-class boy from Queens that knows struggle and loss and is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker’s ethical framework in that, if there was an opportunity to step back in and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very sure and certain in myself.”
