Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us will get a film adaptation
At the time of writing, no release date for the film has been revealed yet. Actor Justin Baldoni will play Ryle. He will also be directing the film.
In 2022, Colleen Hoover’s It Ends With Us novel became one of the best-selling novels in the US. The writer sold over 20 million copies of the book. She has simultaneously been named the New York Times best-selling novel in the same year.
By October 2022, Colleen Hoover announced that the book’s predecessor It Starts With Us will be released later that same month. The new book unpacks the events before It Ends With Us. The latter has also gained criticism for being toxic.

Taking to Instagram, Colleen Hoover expressed her excitement for the film adaptation, which is still in the making.
In the clip, Hoover showed her 1.9 million followers the home she grew up in as a little girl. Giving a little history on the home, Colleen Hoover explained that she grew up in the house from the age of four until 18 years old. See the clip below.

From the time of publication, Colleen Hoover has been very open and honest about the inspiration for It Ends With Us. The book deals with domestic violence and was inspired by her mother who went through it.
Detailing her excitement for the film, Hoover noted that Blake Lively is her “dream, Lily Bloom”. Of Justin Baldoni, she added that she felt he “knew what it takes to play the character” when she first met him.
No release date has been revealed but the film is in the making!
