Selena Gomez recently released her documentary My Mind and Me on Apple TV+. However, fans noticed that she left out an essential detail throughout the entire film.
Struggling with Lupus
While fans and fellow celebrities alike have praised Selena Gomez for her bravery in sharing her vulnerability through her health struggles, the singer is now being criticized. That is, for not mentioning Francia Raisa in her documentary.
As many may know, Selena Gomez was diagnosed with Lupus. Which is an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. The disease can affect joints, skin, blood cells, heart, lungs, and in the singer’s case, the kidneys.
A few years ago, Francia Raisa had offered to donate her kidney to Selena Gomez a few years ago. In order to do so the pair needed to have the same blood type. In this case, it was a match.
However, after Selena Gomez had received the kidney and fully recovered, Francia Raisa expressed her concerns for the singer when she realized that she was consuming alcohol on a consistent basis.

In July, the actress also spoke about how she needed to alter her diet following the procedure to donate her kidney.
‘Because I have one kidney functioning and it acts as a filter to my body, I can’t consume as much protein. I eat a lot — I know I’m skinny, but I chow down — so that was a very huge concern for me when I talked to the doctor,’
Now, in the singer’s recent documentary, Selena Gomez mentions how Taylor Swift is her only real friend in the industry. Which fans found really odd following the two celebrities’ friendship, even calling one another sisters at that point.
‘I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor,’
Previously, this quote was shared by E! News at the time of the documentary’s release. In response to it, Francia Raisa wrote, ‘interesting’ in the comment section. Her comment has since been deleted.
However, a moment that raised eyebrows this weekend was when Selena Gomez commented on a TikTok exploring the relationship between Franci and herself. The singer penned, “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know.”
To date, Francia Raisa has unfollowed Selena on Instagram while the singer still follows the actress on the platform.
