In her latest album titled SOS, SZA delves into situations that are very relatable amongst her fans. That is, breakups, makeups, healing, and even fantasizing about killing your ex!
One of her tracks titled, Kill Bill unpacks how one might feel when seeing your ex with someone new, perhaps a little too early. To make things better for herself, SZA fantasizes about killing her ex as well as his new girlfriend.
Just maybe, this frustration may lie in the fact that the singer feels she had given her all in a relationship that probably didn’t deserve all she did give.
In one track called Special the singer shares “I wish I was special, I gave all my special, away to a loser, now I’m just a loser.”
Among some other things the singer unpacks is being ready for motherhood in her track Blind. One part of her lyrics explores her partner talking about having children while she continues to take a ‘Plan B’.
Since the release of the album, the reactions to her album have only been positive with fans quoting the most relatable parts of her newly released tracks. The singer also wowed her fans with her rapping skills in some of her tracks and even goes between different styles of sound in her new album.
One user wrote, “SZA knew I was tired of men so she’s dropping an album. She’s so considerate”. While another shared, “Not SZA being Hannah Montana, Avril Lavigne, and Taylor Swift at the same time tonight. I love her.”
Previously, SZA teased the release of her album on Saturday Night Live with actress Keke Palmer. The singer was the musical guest for the night and performed her single titled Shirt. After her performance, the release date appeared behind her in bold.
