The Good Nurse is tackling a true crime story that took place in the 1990s.
The history behind the film
Right now, The Good Nurse follows the story of a heroic nurse named Amy Loughrin who helped authorities put Charlie Cullen behind bars. However, this was not without obstacles.
Presently, the film pretty much follows the events of what had taken place before Amy Loughren met Charlie Cullen. Leading up to the days he was finally held accountable for his crimes.
To date, The Good Nurse is a paradox in some form as Charlie Cullen has done the unthinkable during his entire career as a nurse which completely contradicts the role of a nurse evidently.
During his career as a nurse, Charlie Cullen worked at nine hospitals after he had been let go countless times. In one instance, Cullen quit his job after finding that an investigation would be conducted into his behavior.
At a nursing home, one patient reported his behavior as he continuously came into her room and gave her injections. The patient also added that Cullen was not the nurse who was meant to be taking care of her.
Thus far, The Good Doctor doesn’t cover this side of the story but just enough for viewers to understand the extent of his odd behavior and detrimental actions.

As of late, Charlie Cullen has confessed to killing at least 29 people in the nine hospitals he has worked in. However, the number is believed to be over 400 people.
So far, the only reason why Charlie Cullen landed behind bars is through the heroic acts of The Good Nurse, Amy Loughren. As depicted in the film, Amy did go through health struggles and eventually got the surgery she needed. She currently lives with her daughters and grandchildren.
To date, Charlie Cullen has not shared why he murdered numerous individuals during his time as a nurse. He is currently serving more than one life term in prison. Charlie will not be eligible for parole.
