When do Powerball ticket sales close?
Tickets from an existing Lottery outlet close at 20:30 on the day of a draw so buy your Powerball Lotto tickets there or on www.nationallottery.co.za. The terms and conditions for other lotto services vary. In other words, please read them when you sign up for these services.
How to play and what does a ticket cost?
- A single Powerball play will cost you R5.00 vat incl per play.
- PowerBall Plus costs an additional R2.50 per board.
- To play Power and Powerball Plus, choose five numbers between 1 and 50, plus a PowerBall number between 1 and 20;
– choose your own numbers or,
– use the quick pick option, it is a random selection generated by the computer. - Imporant to note and to be aware, if you use any of the online services, there might be an additional charge. and you have to always check the terms and conditions.
- Remember to write your details on the back of your ticket. You need this if you need to claim a prize and if you do not sign your ticket and you lose it, anyone will be able to use it to claim the prize.

Powerball and Powerball Plus draws takes place on Tuesdays and Fridays in South Africa.

How to play Powerball
- Find a valid POWERBALL slip
You can login online, use an APP or find a slip at an authorised retailer.
- Choose your numbers
Use a pen or pencil to choose 5 numbers from 1 to 50 and 1 extra number from 1 to 20. You can play as many boards as you like and choose a Multi-Dra option to use the same numbers for every draw purchased.
- Make Payment
Pay online, in APP or at an authorised retailer.
- Receipt
Online and APP purchases will have your details already but at an authorised retailer you get a receipt so don’t forget to write your name on the back of the receipt.
- Check Results
You can check results online or on eTV, Tues/Fri at 21h00.
