- Kia is giving customers 50,000 reasons to get into a Kia Seltos
Kia South Africa celebrates its silver jubilee in South Africa this year. From selling a mere seven cars in 1998, Kia has grown to become one of South Africa’s most popular car brands, consistently ranking in the top 10 amongst passenger car sales. It’s a year of celebration for Kia, and to celebrate, the brand is taking a different approach to the festivities by creating unique opportunities for customers to join the Kia family through special assistance on specific model ranges.
“We want all South Africans to share in our celebrations by joining the Kia family,” says Stephen Crosse, Sales & Marketing Director, Kia South Africa. “By offering these special assistance offers, we’re giving customers the flexibility to structure a finance deal in a way that best suits their financial need, whether it’s as a deposit, to boost to the value of their trade-in, or even just an outright discount.
“While the market remains flat during this period of high inflation and rising interest rates, we’re not seeing a decline in demand for new vehicles. We are however seeing the effects of the current economic climate, with many customers who are in the market for a new car looking at options that will put them in a better position financially, whether it’s a smaller car or simply a lower monthly repayment,” he adds.

To kick off the celebrations – which will include unique offers on different model ranges for the remainder of 2023 – Kia is offering customers the opportunity to get into the evergreen Kia Seltos by offering deal assistance of up to R50,000 on all derivatives throughout July, August and September.
“The Kia Seltos quickly became a firm favourite in the Kia line-up after its initial launch in November 2019, with exceptionally strong and consistent demand since it first arrived in South Africa,” adds Crosse. “With up to R50,000 to structure a deal based on your own unique mobility and financial needs, we believe that more South African families can get into a high-quality, reliable SUV without having to feel like they are downgrading on life.”
An SUV that ticks all the boxes
The Seltos range is unique in that the variants on offer resonate with the needs of a broad variety of customers looking for a compact SUV. The not-so-entry-level Seltos EX is a consistently popular choice for customers who demand space and functionality, while the range-topping GT-Line remains popular amongst customers who want all the features and benefits of an eye-catching SUV without compromising on value for money.
The mid-spec EX+ models offer a remarkable balance in the range, with the turbodiesel models specifically proving to be the proverbial sweet spot in the range thanks to its impeccable fuel consumption. In fact, in 2020, Kia partnered with Wild in SA on an epic fuel economy run to attempt covering the distance between Johannesburg and Cape Town on a single tank of diesel, at speeds that are realistic. The team made it all the way to Laingsburg – a total distance of just more than 1,000km – averaging 4,32-litres/100km without applying any specific fuel-saving techniques. Earlier in 2023, Kia undertook another epic adventure with the Seltos, this time taking it well beyond the road less travelled, to prove that one doesn’t always need a traditional 4X4 or vehicles equipped with a low-range transfer case to explore the vast beauty of South Africa. The Seltos conquered some of the most scenic dirt roads and mountain passes in South Africa with aplomb – while still showing exceptional fuel consumption. .
