One of the country’s most sought-after art events – the 2023 RMB Latitudes Art Fair – is happening this month and Lexus is proud to be the exclusive vehicle partner. The art fair is the ultimate indoor-outdoor art experience aimed at celebrating the creative spirit whilst fostering new relationships, connecting artists, galleries and sponsors alike. This year’s art fair is going to be more exciting than ever.
Now in its fourth year as a physical exhibition, the RMB Latitudes brings art and nature together. Visitors will soak up the finest African contemporary art, while strolling through the iconic Shepstone Gardens in Johannesburg.
The event, which takes place from 24 to 28 May 2023, promises to offer something for every art lover in attendance. The fair will showcase a diverse work of art representing various exhibitors over the four-day show. With the Lexus brand being synonymous with craftsmanship, the partnership shares an adoration for people, creativity and amazing experiences.

At the Fair, Lexus will offer chauffeur driven experiences for all VIP guests in attendance. A highlight for the brand is sponsoring a bespoke and proudly South African exhibition, aptly titled ‘Essay’-an exhibit thatbrings together the work of three artists, Sam Nhlengethwa, Katlego Tlabela and Cinthia Sifa Mulanga, to explore a nuanced dialogue in concept, and approach to colour and line.
This cross generational dialogue is pertinent to the zeitgeist as the African art market is expanding creating a need to analyse, expand and catalyse the critical middle between commerce and the academy.
The three artists are known for their masterful skill, which ties in well with Lexus’ craftmanship philosophy.

Over 40 galleries and 250 artists will bring their art to Shepstone Gardens, a magnificent three-acre property. Visitors will be invited to discover and explore art in all corners of the unique venue, as they wander through marble halls, secret gardens and rooftop pavilions.
