Christmas is right around the corner and it seems that load-shedding will still persist throughout the week.

Since we cannot get rid of the power cuts anytime soon, the reality now is that South Africans will need to plan their Christmas festivities around their load-shedding schedules this weekend.
Over the past week, South Africans have had to endure the worst kind of power outages in years. This past weekend, Eskom needed to push load-shedding to stage six after a breakdown of 8 generating units overnight.
Load-shedding stages and schedules
That means load-shedding took place for four hours at a time for at least two days. However, the stage has since been downgraded to level 5, with the stage going down further to stage 4 this past Monday.
According to Eskom, load-shedding will remain on stage 4 from Tuesday onward, likely for the rest of the week, until further notice.
Under stage 4 load-shedding, South Africa will see its electricity go out at least three times a day and two hours at a time. It is currently unclear if Eskom has recovered a few of the generating units over the past few days.
With the current schedule in place, it might be a little difficult to do your traditional feast. Unless you have a plan in place for the way you will be making your different foods.
So, on a national level, the country will be at stage four for the rest of the week. This stage will alternate with stage 3 when the time strikes 10 every day. This is subject to change given Eskom finds a means to restore the generating units sooner.
