Eskom implements STAGE 2 LOADSHEDDING until Wednesday morning
After suspending this week’s first round of stage 2 loadshedding, Eskom has informed the country that stage 2 will again be implemented from 17:00 Tuesday 12 April until 05:00 Wednesday, 13 April.

SA softens its neutral stance, meets with Ukraine ambassador
A month and a half after Russia started the invasion of Ukraine, the Ukrainian ambassador met with the director-general of South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO).
It seems that South Africa has “softened its neutral stance” on the invasion due to Russia’s “atrocities” during the war – which include various war crime allegations.
And while South Africa chose to maintain a neutral stance, it has still failed to identify Russia as the aggressor throughout the conflict. However, Ramaphosa is said to be closer to securing a call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.
Warning of “unavoidable” price hikes for chickens – UPDATE
The price of chicken has already seen an intense increase of 17% over the last year, and now it is set to become even more expensive if trade tariffs aren’t scrapped.
The South African Association of Meat Importers and Exporters (AMIE) is urging the government to scrap the trade tariffs on all chicken products and rather place a three-year moratorium on new tariffs. This will then ensure that consumers will still be able to afford chicken – a highly sought after protein in South Africa.
