‘Bureaucracy and confusion’ delaying KZN funerals
The people of KwaZulu-Natal are now facing another challenge – when and if they can bury their lost loved ones.
The eThekwini municipality has announced that it would give each family that has lost a relative in the devastating floods R20 000.
However, the KZN Funeral Association Forum has revealed that they were not consulted by the government regarding the amount that would be allocated or how the money would be distributed.
“If we don’t know what’s going on, how much more confused are the victims?”

“We can’t run away from the fact that these are our people and it would really hurt to say I can’t let go of a body because I haven’t been paid. Yet no one knows who should pay. At the end of the day, we’re not running charity organisations here.”
Madeleine McCann: Suspect identified 15 years after her disappearance
On Thursday 21 April, Portuguese authorities confirmed that they officially have a formal suspect in the Madeleine McCann case. This comes 15 years after the then three-year-old vanished out of the apartment in Portugal where she was vacationing with her family.
