On Sunday, 20 March, a horrific crash took place on the N12 near Delmas in Mpumalanga when a taxi swerved into another vehicle.
Taxi driver was possibly under the influence
The taxi, fortunately, did not have any passengers, however, it seems as if the driver was under the influence. Throughout the video, the vehicle can be seen swerving from lane to lane until it goes completely off-road. And when it tried swinging back onto the road, it struck another vehicle in the lane next to it.
As the two cars collide, the video shows the shocking footage of how a person was flung meters into the air due to the impact. And it is assumed that it was the taxi diver.
One person confirmed dead
Mpumalanga community safety spokesperson Moeti Mmusi confirmed the incident and confirmed that one person had died.
“Only one person died when the crash occurred involving a minibus taxi this past weekend. There were no other fatalities on the N12 near Delmas.”
