Davids made these comments due to Broos’ remarks who said some of the DStv Premiership players struggle when it comes to the international football.
Bafana Bafana recently secured back-to-back wins in the two international friendly matches against Sierra Leone and Botswana.

“Too honest, should I say. He needs to just tone it down because, at the end of the day, he’s going to be judged on results and then he won’t be able to blame anyone else,” Davids told SABC Sport.
“Like every South African [believes], we should be at the top and at least be competing. The coach has won the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon, and if you ask me, we have the players – I’m not saying that he must go win the next AFCON, no.
“But I think he has a good squad and pool of players locally and internationally, so he should not be complaining. Of course, it’s difficult for some players, they’re coming to camp for 10 days and have to adapt to the coach’s formations, and it’s different to where they play at their clubs.

“If you ask me, it’s not easy. And I would say the coaches would want a quick result, and aren’t patient enough with some of the players, and with the new generation, it takes long for some players to adapt tactically.
“So I disagree with him, you need to give players time and it’s not easy, unless he gives some players a few more games off international breaks, and just give them some game-time to see if they can adapt to his tactics. But I don’t think it’s fair for him to say we don’t have good enough players in the PSL.”
