Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mnqithi says they must appreciate a ‘clean-sweep’ after they completed a treble by winning Nedbank Cup in a mouthwatering clash against a spirited side of Marumo Gallants.
Sundowns scored first when Shalulile beat Washington Arubi before halftime and Gallants started to dominate possession as they were seeking a leveler.

Daniel Malesela’s troops equalised later in the game when Sede Junior Dion was found by Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo’s cross at the far post and tapped the empty net with a header.
Sundowns got a winning goal through Thapelo Morena before the last minute of the the extra time just after Ndlondlo was sent off.
Mnqithi says being knocked out of CAF Champions League was sour but they have to be pleased with their whole season’s performance after they swept all domestic trophies.
He was asked about the next season’s approach, he said: “We’ll try and divide this break into two halves, one half we give it to the team to rest and the second half is the preparatory phase which is a five-week preparation phase because we know we’re going to have a very grueling season which will demand a lot from the teams.”
“We want to give them as much time to rest as possible because we know what’s coming but I’m very happy for them for bringing this one one home, to make sure that at least we salvage a bit of pride.
“Bombing out of the [CAF] Champions League was not nice but when these boys make sure that in a season we get a clean-sweep you must appreciate.”

Asked if they were already planning on the players that will be leaving and the new signings, Mnqithi refused to comment about that.
“At this stage we’re celebrating, we’re not talking about the ins and outs,” he concluded.
