Two male suspects aged 22 and 25 were arrested for kidnapping on 05 June 2022. On Saturday, 4 June 2022, complainant was at her home in Siyanda, when she was approached by four men who threatened to kill her before demanded her to go with them.
As per Lt. Col. Nqobile Gwala, the suspects informed her that her son was involved in the kidnapping of a four-year-old child who is related to one of the suspects which occurred on 3 May 2022.

The suspects’ also kidnapped four children aged 9, 14, 17 and 19 and a case of kidnapping was opened at the KwaMashu police station.
Detectives immediately began to trace the kidnapped children including the four year-old-girl which was still missing.
Realising that police were hot on their heels the suspects handed over the four children at the police station yesterday. The two suspects were immediately arrested.

The four-year-old girl who initially went missing was also handed over later by an unknown man and was taken to hospital for a medical examination before she was safely handed over to her mother.
The arrested suspects are expected to appear in Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court on 07 June 2022.
