Tennis player reveals she is pregnant
Taking to her Instagram, Naomi Osaka revealed that she won’t be returning to tennis in 2023. Alongside a photo of an Ultrasound, the Japanese tennis player revealed that she is a mom-to-be!
The post read, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a life update for 2023.”
Right now, it is unclear when Naomi Osaka is due to give birth or how far along the tennis player is in her pregnancy. However, it is the assumption that she will give birth sometime in 2023.
In a screenshot note, Naomi Osaka also reflected on the past year. The soon-to-be mum revealed that some of her challenges throughout her career have also been ‘the most fun’ and looks forward to the journey ahead.
“The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that the most challenging times in life may be the most fun. These few months away from sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the games I’ve dedicated my life to.”
In her post, the tennis player also shared what she will be looking forward to. One of these things is motherhood.
She said, “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future. One thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone “that’s my mom” haha.”
When will Naomi Osaka return to tennis?
According to her post, Naomi Osaka is expecting to return to tennis in 2024. The mom-to-be shared that she will definitely be at the Australian Open in 2024.
“2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me and I hope I will see you guys in the start of the next one cause I’ll be at Aus 2024. I love you all infinitely.”
Her post to Instagram has amassed over 72 000 likes since the time of posting. While the tennis player is notoriously private about her life, it is possible that she will share more information about her pregnancy.
