Wet and unsettled weather dominates much of South Africa today, with showers and thundershowers rolling across Gauteng, the Free State, North West and the Northern Cape, while rain showers fall over Limpopo and Mpumalanga and lighter rain or drizzle affects KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. Cape Town is the standout exception, enjoying clear skies and a pleasant high of 25C, though temperatures elsewhere stay noticeably cooler, with Johannesburg and Bloemfontein starting the morning at a chilly 9C. Coastal residents should keep an eye on the minor warnings in place for damaging waves and damaging winds, so take care along the shoreline and in exposed areas.
