On Monday 18 April, soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez announced on their social media that they have sadly suffered the loss of their newborn baby boy.

In October 2021, the couple announced that they were expecting twins and in December they shared that it would be a boy and a girl.
However, as Ronaldo shared the “greatest pain that any parents can feel”, the public learned that their baby boy sadly died during childbirth.
In the statement, they continued to share that their baby girl’s survival is the only thing giving them strength during this time.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
The devasted parents thanked the doctors and nurses for all their support and work during the time and asked for privacy at this “very difficult time”.
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support,” the Manchester United forward wrote.
Ronaldo is now a father to five children – Cristiano Jr (10), twins Eva and Mateo (4), Alana (4) and his newborn baby girl.
Ronaldo only shares Alana and the new baby girl with his longtime partner, Georgina.
