Black Forest Tart with Chocolate and Maraschino Cherries

For the Tart
- 1 ½ cups Sugar
- 1 ½ cups Flour
- ¾ cup Cocoa Powder
- ¾ tsp Baking Powder
- ¾ tsp Salt
- 2 Large Eggs
- ¾ cup Buttermilk
- ¾ cup Hot Water
- ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp Vanilla
For the Topping
- Maraschino Cherries
- 1 cup Chocolate Flakes
- 50 ml Castor Sugar
- 50 ml Cherry Liqueur
- 250 ml Fresh Cream
- 100 ml Cream Cheese
Mix the hot water and cocoa powder together. Set aside.
Beat the eggs and sugar. Add the dry ingredients. Add the wet ingredients and mix well.
Pour into a greased oven pie dish, bake in a pre heated oven 180 degrees, for 35 minutes.
Pour the cherry liqueur over the hot cake.
Whip the fresh cream. Add the cream cheese and castor sugar.
Spread over the cooled cake. Decorate with the chocolate and cherries.
