The week in the North West kicks off warm and unsettled, with Mahikeng sitting between 15 and 30 degrees on Saturday under showers and thundershowers. Sunday and Monday brighten up nicely, reaching 31 degrees with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. From Tuesday the rain returns, and temperatures ease back to 27 degrees and then 25 on Wednesday. Thursday brings fog to Mahikeng at a cooler 13 to 26 degrees, before high level clouds move in on Friday.
Rustenburg, Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp all see thundershowers early in the week, with Rustenburg the warmest at 32 degrees midweek. Severe thunderstorm warnings are active around Schweizer-Reneke, Bloemhof, Tosca and Vryburg, so keep an eye on the sky and hold off travelling when storms build.
