KwaZulu-Natal opens the week wet and warm, with Durban sitting at 22 to 25C on Saturday under showers and thundershowers, easing into rain showers on Sunday. Things cool off through midweek as slight rain settles in, dropping Durban to a fresh 16 to 19C by Monday. Pietermaritzburg starts hot at 30C before easing back, while Richards Bay climbs as high as 35C with thundershowers early on. By Thursday and Friday the province dries out, with Durban turning partly cloudy and then mostly clear.
Keep the umbrella handy for the first half of the week, especially with severe thunderstorm warnings out for Underberg, Kokstad, Donnybrook and Margate. Folks in those areas should stay alert for heavy downpours and take care on the roads.
