Ford has introduced the new Tourneo Custom Kombi in South Africa. The eight-seat passenger vehicle replaces the Tourneo Trend LWB and gives families, businesses, shuttle operators and fleet buyers a newer-generation people carrier priced at R996 000.
Ford South Africa Manufacturing (Pty) Limited announced the Kombi in Pretoria on 29 September 2026. It brings the latest generation of Ford’s passenger offering to buyers who regularly transport people.

Tourneo Custom Kombi engine and gearbox
Power comes from a 2.0-litre SiT diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It produces 100 kW of maximum power and 360 Nm of torque, and Ford says the automatic suits both urban driving and longer journeys.
Cabin layout and practical features
The cabin has a fixed eight-seater layout dedicated to carrying passengers, with room for occupants and their belongings and storage space for everyday items. The driver and front passenger get armrests, and the seats are trimmed in durable cloth fabric intended for regular use. Outside, Daytime Running Lights are fitted, and 16-inch alloy wheels are optional.
Touchscreen, connectivity and driver monitoring
The dashboard carries a 13-inch central touchscreen for key vehicle functions and connectivity, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for compatible smartphones. The driver has an 8-inch digital instrument display, and FordPass connectivity gives access to connected vehicle features through the FordPass app.
As on all Transit and Tourneo models, a Driver Monitoring System uses an infrared camera to track the driver’s head and eye movements for signs of distraction and shows an instrument-panel warning if it detects any. Ryan Searle, Director of Sales Operations at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (Manufacturing) (Pty) Ltd, said the Kombi “builds on the practical strengths of the outgoing Trend, adding the technology, comfort and refinement of our latest-generation Tourneo Custom”.
