What has been one of the biggest subjects of the transfer news in Europe seems to be coming to an end with Manchester City closing in on landing Erling Haaland.
According to Sky Sports, Haaland informed his current club Borussia Dortmund that he will leave at the end of the season.
The 21-year-old striker reportedly completed a medical at Hospital Erasme in Brussels, Belgium on Monday, 09 May.
Haaland’s release clause is €75m and City CEO Ferran Soriano is said to have informed Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke last week that they’re ready to activate the striker’s release clause.
The deal is believed to be almost done and expected to be announced later this week.
The Norwegian forward joined Dortmund in January 2020 and has found the back of the net 85 times in 88 games he has played for the German club.
Numerous clubs were interested in the services of Haaland including Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and FC Barcelona.
