Steven Spielberg directs Ready Player One, an action adventure based on Ernest Cline’s bestseller. In 2045, with the world close to collapse, people escape into the OASIS, a virtual universe built by eccentric creator James Halliday (Mark Rylance). His death leaves a fortune to whoever finds a digital Easter egg hidden inside, and young Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) joins the global hunt.
This first trailer from Warner Bros. Pictures introduces a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical world of mystery and danger. Olivia Cooke, Ben Mendelsohn and T.J. Miller also star, alongside Simon Pegg. Zak Penn co-wrote the screenplay with Cline, while cinematographer Janusz Kaminski and production designer Adam Stockhausen return from the director’s Bridge of Spies team.
