- Five world premieres at Wuhu summit.
- UK fast-charging stations planned from 2027.
- 70% local production target by 2030.
- 56 552 European registrations in September.
- iCAUR arrives in the UK early 2027.
At its International User Summit in Wuhu, China, last week, Chery International gave world premieres to the OMODA X concept, the all-new TIGGO 7, the Chery TIGGO X7, the iCAUR V25 and the LEPAS AURA concept. A new home robot from AiMOGA was also shown at the event.
The summit took place shortly after September registration data confirmed the group as the best-selling Chinese automotive group in Europe for the first time. It brought together international media, key opinion consumers, partners and stakeholders, and gave the company a chance to hear directly from customers about future products and services.

Chery charging and energy storage stations
The group confirmed it will start building fast-charging and energy storage stations from 2027 in markets including the UK, Spain and Thailand. These stations are intended to support the growing number of drivers choosing its new energy vehicles, which consist of plug-in hybrid and fully electric models.
Chery local production targets to 2030
Setting out the global strategy, Executive Vice President Zhang Guibing said around 48% of the vehicles the group sells outside China this year are built locally. That share is expected to pass 50% by the end of 2026, rise to 60% in 2027 and reach 70% by 2030. According to the company, local production is designed to create jobs and to work alongside technology partners in each market.
Record September sales in Europe
In September, its brands registered 56 552 vehicles across the EU, UK and EFTA markets, up 187% year on year, which placed the group ninth among all manufacturers. The JAECOO 7 became the first Chinese model to enter Europe’s monthly top 10, with 15 470 sales, while exports reached a record 207 814 for the month.
Chery International UK ranked as the third-largest automotive group in the UK, with 32 823 registrations and a 9.36% market share.

iCAUR launch in the UK
Gary Lan, CEO of Chery International UK, said: “For UK customers, that means more choice, with iCAUR arriving in early 2027, and the infrastructure to support the growing number of drivers choosing our plug-in hybrid and fully electric models.”
iCAUR is set to go on sale in the UK in early 2027, joining OMODA, JAECOO, Chery and LEPAS in the group’s UK portfolio.
