For a business whose farm and equine vets spend their days driving between rural clients, swapping diesel for battery power is a significant step: Inspiring Vet Care, which runs more than 900 veterinary practices along with hospital and referral operations, has ordered all-electric Musso EV double-cab pick-ups from KGM Motors UK, formerly SsangYong. The group is the largest network of veterinary practices in the UK, employs approximately 15,000 colleagues and is moving towards a lower-emission fleet.
Novuna Vehicle Solutions is funding the vehicles, and West Midlands-based specialist Gearmate is converting them to suit the group’s operational requirements. The first examples were delivered during October.
Musso EV battery, range and capability
Power comes from an 80.6kWh battery that gives up to 240 miles of WLTP range. Full-time all-wheel drive, 207 PS and 339 Nm of torque serve both on and off road, while payload reaches up to 690kg and braked towing capacity is 2.3 tonnes. The five-seat cabin pairs a load bed with SUV-style comfort, self-levelling rear suspension keeps the pick-up stable as loads change, and vehicle-to-load technology lets compatible electrical equipment run directly from the vehicle for mobile and remote work.
Gearmate conversions and the Rexton Commercial
Before entering service, each Musso EV receives modular and bespoke storage from Gearmate, configured around the group’s specific needs. Inspiring Vet Care has also ordered the KGM Rexton Commercial, which Gearmate will convert as well. This two-seat car-derived van offers a 2 200-litre load area, a payload of more than 700kg, selectable four-wheel drive with low range and up to 3.5 tonnes of towing capacity for duties that call for more space or heavier towing.
Inspiring Vet Care net zero plans
The order supports the Positive Pawprint programme, through which the group is working towards net zero by moving to hybrid and electric fleet vehicles. Lee Corrigan, Head of Fleet UK and Ireland at Inspiring Vet Care, said the Musso EV “gives us the versatility of a pick-up with the benefits of an electric powertrain.”
Alex Warren, National Fleet Sales Manager at KGM Motors UK, said the order “demonstrates how electric pick-ups can provide a credible and capable solution for organisations that need versatility without compromising their electrification ambitions.”
Musso EV price and tax in the UK
In the UK, the Musso EV is priced from £39 995 including VAT and the £5 000 Plug-in Van Grant. Company users benefit from a 4% Benefit-in-Kind rate for 2026/27, with personal tax from approximately £30 per month for a 20% taxpayer.
