TotalEnergies will supply its Quartz lubricants to Kia customers and dealers across Europe under a new five-year cooperation agreement signed with Kia Europe. Under the deal, the carmaker will recommend TotalEnergies lubricants to its European customers and dealers.
The global integrated energy company has worked with Kia since 2011 on the supply of lubricants to the brand’s customers in Europe, and the latest agreement carries that relationship through 2031.
Signing ceremony at Kia Europe headquarters
Both companies marked the extension at a signing ceremony at Kia’s European headquarters in Frankfurt. Present were Sjoerd Knipping, COO of Kia Europe, and Jean Parizot, Director, OEM & Central Sales, Automotive Business Unit at TotalEnergies Lubrifiants.
Knipping described the renewal as “an important step in reinforcing our European competitiveness and ensuring customer satisfaction for long-term vehicle usage”. For his part, Parizot said the agreement is “much more than a continuation of 15 years of successful collaboration”.
A Kia partnership renewed every five years
Since the first global cooperation agreement in 2011, the two firms have renewed their arrangement every five years. The current term is the latest in that cycle.
According to Kia, supplying technologically advanced lubricants allows its vehicles to meet strict European regulations. It also helps the manufacturer meet its own standards for fuel consumption and vehicle longevity.
Kia dealer programmes and recycled oil project
Over the last 15 years, the partnership has supported a portfolio of joint projects and marketing initiatives. These continue under the extended agreement, with programmes aimed at giving dealers tools to deliver after-sales care, raise service standards and improve customer satisfaction.
Looking ahead, Kia and TotalEnergies are also working on a new Recycled Oil Project, which applies circularity to the way lubricants are used. The agreement remains in force through 2031.
