Parkers has handed its Best Value Manufacturer Award 2027 to MG Motor UK, a new category in the relaunched awards that looks at what buyers get for their money rather than purchase price alone. The win comes during a run of record sales for the brand in the United Kingdom.
MG sales record in the UK
MG registered a record 7 837 vehicles in the UK in October, making it the country’s fourth best-selling brand for the month. That figure was 85% up on October 2025, with private registrations rising 57.3%.
Year-to-date registrations are up 25% at 86 767, which means the brand has already passed its previous annual sales record with two months still to go. Sales figures come from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders and cover January to October 2026.
New-car prices and household income
Research released alongside the award, drawing on online marketplace data and driver opinion surveys, shows new-car prices have risen 58% in ten years, while household disposable income has grown just 2%. The carmaker points to its spread of equipment, cabin and luggage space and a choice of petrol, Hybrid+, plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
David Allison, Director of Product and Planning at MG Motor UK, said: “Customers want to feel they have spent their money well, every time they get behind the wheel.”

Tom Webster, Head of Content at Parkers, said the brand offers much more than a low purchase price, with running costs such as company car tax, maintenance and fuel bills also counting. He singled out the seven-seat S9: “It offers more space for seven than its main rivals, has a premium feel and a simple and well-equipped line up.”
Ownership support from MG retailers
