As part of ISUZU’s ongoing commitment to the communities within which it operates, and the IRONMAN South Africa partnership, the ISUZU Foundation has contributed R100 for each entry into the ISUZU IRONMAN African Championship in aid of the IRONMAN 4 the Kidz Charity. The contribution of R777 700 is derived from three regional donations that have taken place since September 2022. These include R300 000 in Durban; R250 000 in Mossel Bay and now R227 000 in Gqeberha.
The ISUZU Foundation is a partnership between ISUZU Motors South Africa and its Dealer Network. For every vehicle sold ISUZU and its 86 dealers contribute to the ISUZU Foundation. Since 2010, this initiative has enabled grants of more than R16-million to be made to approximately 80 projects.
ISUZU Department Executive – Dealer & Business Development South African Customs Union Markets (SACU), Marcia Mayaba says, “We believe that the youth are our future and that we have a duty to boldly do more to make a meaningful impact on the physical, social and emotional wellbeing of children, especially those less fortunate who often come from extremely challenging backgrounds. We have shared values with the IRONMAN 4 the Kidz Charity and we value this partnership which further drives meaningful impact into the communities within which ISUZU and its dealer network operates.”
The ISUZU Foundation has touched and enriched the lives of many South Africans. This foundation supports projects that are focused on the needs of members of the South African community, especially those living under vulnerable circumstances in disadvantaged communities.
“Partnering with the IRONMAN 4 the Kidz Charity accelerates the ISUZU Foundation’s drive and reach to make a significant influence in the hearts and minds of children in the communities within which ISUZU and its dealer network operates. This commitment is aligned to sustainable development goals set out by the United Nations to focus on education, poverty and hunger alleviation, and creating sustainable environments,” Mayaba adds.
“ISUZU is the heart and pulse of our city. Where good is, you find ISUZU. Where support is to society and community, you find ISUZU. You are more than a corporate, you are an enabler. We are so proud to have ISUZU and your headquarters here in our city and building your magnificent vehicles here. To you, it’s more than building vehicles, it’s about giving back to society,” said Garth Wright, IRONMAN 4 the Kidz Trustee.
“ISUZU drives a bigger dream. There are so many beautiful boys and girls coming up who will benefit greatly from this investment, and who are going to make us all so proud. How amazing would it be if they work for ISUZU one day. Thank you for your association with us. We are humbled by it. The money is one thing, but the hope, belief, love, and care is another; and you ISUZU give us all of that,” Wright added.
