The week starts wet across the Western Cape, with rain showers in Cape Town on Monday and slight rain hanging around through Wednesday. Temperatures stay cool early on, dipping to around 12 to 16C midweek in Cape Town, and Stellenbosch cooling down to 14C by Wednesday. Paarl holds a touch warmer at 17 to 18C, while George swings from rain showers to cloudy skies and back to slight rain. Keep a raincoat and brolly handy for those first few days.
From Thursday things brighten up nicely, with Cape Town turning partly cloudy and reaching 18C, then clear skies on Friday climbing to 20C. The weekend stays pleasant, with partly cloudy conditions Saturday and high level clouds moving in on Sunday. Do note the SAWS weather advisories in place for Grabouw, Worcester, Prince Albert and Knysna.

What to do: Stay indoors where possible away from the windows that open towards the severe winds. Be aware of the following: – sudden cross winds if traveling especially between buildings, fallen trees or power lines and flying debris.Parked aircraft should be pointed into the direction of the wind and secured. Ensure that all temporary structures are well anchored.
Yellow Level 2 Warning: Damaging Winds resulting in localised damage to settlements, localised interruption to power and communications and difficult driving conditions is expected over Northern Cape except in the south-east, the western and northern parts of the Western Cape as well as the western parts of the North West.
