This massive tournament will be played in a space of three days starting on Friday, 09 September up to the 11th and the Springbok Sevens nicknamed as Blitzboks have a chance to win it at home.
The Cape Town Stadium, a 55,000-capacity venue will host all 84 matches that will be played by 31 countries.
Big occasions like this tournament come once in a while, now to keep the memories, The Cape Mint (TCM) has unveiled a new series of commemorative pieces with the Springbok emblem and Cape Town’s Table Mountain.
The medallion is 38.6 mm in diameter and is available in bronze and silver.

While the silver proof medallion is 99.9% pure silver (99.9 AG) and weighs 1 ounce, the bronze-proof commemorative medallion weighs 200 grams.
The set for both silver proof and bronze proof medallion is limited to 500 in stock and sells for R2,160 as per TCM’s online store.
In addition, TCM also relaunched its Springbok lapel pin which is in time with the upcoming tournament and its price is R150.

“We are excited to reveal our new design of the official Springbok Sevens medallion just in time for the upcoming Rugby World Cup Sevens,” TCM director Natanya Van Niekerk said in a statement.
“They offer a proud expression of support for the current world champion’s indomitable spirit and talent, coinciding with the first time this popular sporting event will be held on the continent.”
