Clip chosen for Vevo Staff Picks
On Painkiller, Joy Crookes is joined by Denzel Curry for a collaboration that moves between hip hop, pop, R&B and soul. The single arrives through RCA Records, Insanity and Speakerbox. It brings together two distinct voices on one track, with the singer leading and her guest adding his own verse to the mix.
Ethan & Tom directed the official video, made through production company Partizan with Danny Herman producing. In it, Crookes plays a girlfriend opposite Matt Whipps as her boyfriend. Filming ran across separate units in Chicago and Los Angeles, both shot by director of photography Ryan Zeller. Vevo has since added the clip to its Staff Picks.
