Testify is a song by Basson Laubscher, an indie and rock act whose sound on this track mixes fuzzy, gritty blues-rock with soul-infused rock n roll. The band frames its music as spreading the gospel of blues-rock to the world, and the song’s title doubles as an invitation for listeners to join in and testify.
The official music video, released on 8 July 2022, gives a look at the life of a rock n roll band on the road. It presents touring as fast and slow, sweaty and long, amazing and inspiring, and less glamorous than the fantasy suggests. The clip shows the band’s travels and the fun they get up to while playing their music.
