The Exorcist: Martyrs is a new horror chapter in the long-running franchise from director Mike Flanagan, known for The Haunting of Hill House and Doctor Sleep. Scarlett Johansson plays New York detective Julie Miller, who ended satanic serial killer Father Sunday’s reign thirteen years ago. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sasha Calle, Diane Lane, Jacobi Jupe, Scoot McNairy, Gil Bellows, Laurence Fishburne and John Leguizamo co-star.
The trailer from Universal Pictures sets up Miller’s return to the darkness after a new killer writes her name in an altar boy’s blood on a church crypt wall. With former prison chaplain Father William and rookie detective Gina Restrepo, she uncovers a thread linking serial killers from H.H. Holmes to the Zodiac. The film arrives in cinemas in March 2027.
