World LPG Autogas Day has given DFSK South Africa a platform to promote its OEM-approved LPG conversion programme for the brand’s commercial vehicle range, which is aimed at cutting fuel costs for local businesses.
The company says interest from customers looking for ways to manage fuel expenses has grown since the programme was introduced.

How the DFSK LPG system works
Vehicles fitted with the approved system can run on both petrol and LPG, giving owners a choice of fuel and reducing their reliance on petrol. The conversion is designed to keep the practicality and versatility of the vehicles intact.
Fleet operators, delivery businesses, SMEs and other high-mileage users are the main targets, as fuel savings can affect monthly operating costs and profitability. LPG can also reduce certain harmful exhaust emissions compared with conventional petrol and diesel applications.
C35 Panel Van roadshow results
To show how the fuel performs in real-world conditions, DFSK South Africa ran a roadshow in a DFSK C35 Panel Van. The van covered approximately 1,200 kilometres using 80 litres of LPG and around a quarter tank of petrol.
According to the company, results like these support LPG Autogas as an alternative for businesses operating commercial vehicles across South Africa.
Gina Giani on fuel costs
CEO Gina Giani said fuel remains one of the largest operating expenses for businesses under financial pressure. “Providing affordable vehicles is only part of the solution. We also need to help our customers reduce the cost of operating those vehicles every day,” she said.
The brand expects alternative fuel technology to play a bigger role in the local commercial vehicle sector as buyers look past the purchase price towards total cost of ownership.
DFSK dealers to spread the word
DFSK South Africa plans to expand awareness of the conversion programme through its national dealer network, where customers will be informed about the potential benefits and savings of LPG Autogas. No pricing for the conversion was given.
