Ford South Africa has added all-wheel drive to its Tourneo people mover with the new Tourneo Titanium X AWD. Buyers of the eight-seat Titanium X now have a version with extra traction for wet roads, gravel and trips beyond paved urban roads. The derivative was announced in Pretoria on 29 September 2026 and joins the existing front-wheel-drive Titanium X in the line-up.
Ford is aiming the model at families, executive transport operators and long-distance travellers. Tourneo Titanium X AWD engine and drivetrain
Power comes from Ford’s 2.0-litre EcoBlue four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which produces 125kW and 390Nm and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel-drive system distributes drive between the front and rear wheels according to available grip. Six drive modes are fitted: Normal, Eco, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Sport and Trail. On the outside the AWD is largely identical to the Titanium X. It is distinguished by 19-inch alloy wheels and AWD badging, and it has Matrix LED headlights.
Eight-seat cabin and optional packs
The cabin seats eight on leather-appointed seats, with powered sliding side doors giving access to the second and third rows. The individual rear seats can be removed for extra luggage space or turned around to create a rear-facing conference-style layout. Infotainment runs through a 13-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.
The optional Lux pack adds heated second-row seats, a 14-speaker B&O sound system and a full-length panoramic moon roof. A Mobile Office package is also offered, with a stowable tray table, enhanced lighting, laptop or tablet stowage, additional USB connections, an accessory docking slot and an integrated rubbish bin. It also includes a steering wheel that converts into a table, which can only be used when the vehicle is parked and stationary.
Tourneo safety and driver assistance systems
Standard safety equipment includes Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pre-Collision Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centring, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Information System, and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Reverse Brake Assist. The vehicle also gets a 360-degree camera, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Assist, Exit Warning and Post-Collision Braking. A Driver Monitoring System uses an infrared camera to track the driver’s head and eye movements, and it displays a warning if it detects signs of distraction.

The Ford Tourneo Custom 2.0L SWB Titanium X AWD 8AT costs R1 354 100, including VAT. The price includes a six-year/90 000km Ford Optional Service Plan, a four-year/120 000km warranty, four-year/unlimited distance Roadside Assistance and a five-year/unlimited distance corrosion warranty. Service intervals are 15 000km or annually. Service or maintenance plans can be upgraded to eight years or 165 000km, and the warranty can be extended to seven years or 200 000km.
