Alongside the service offer, customers in the UK can enter a draw to win a trip to China for two, with return flights and accommodation included. Entry details and terms and conditions are published by the company.
Michael Yang, Managing Director at Geely Auto UK, said the free first service and the prize would “reward our customers” and “help them connect with the heritage, innovation and global scale behind the Geely brand”.
From refrigerator parts to Volvo owner
Li Shufu founded the business in China in 1986, starting operations that November by selling refrigerator components. It moved into the automotive industry in 1997 and launched its first car a year later.
International recognition followed the 2010 acquisition of Volvo Cars. The group now manages brands including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, Zeekr, Polestar, Volvo, Lotus and smart, and is the global strategic partner to Malaysian carmaker Proton. It employs more than 50,000 people and runs research and development centres in Hangzhou, Ningbo, Gothenburg, Coventry and Frankfurt.
Geely Auto growth in the United Kingdom
Since its commercial launch in the UK in October 2025, Geely Auto has recorded more than 15,000 registrations in its first full year there. The EX5 was the first model on sale, with 10 models planned over three years and an annual sales target of over 100,000 units.
The brand has recently signed its 100th retail site and remains on track to have 100 sites operational by the end of 2026. Customers in the UK who want the free first service need to register a Starray EM-i or EX2 before the end of November 2026.
