Cumulative global sales of 2.56 million units, recorded as of September 2026, mark eight years since SUV brand Jetour launched globally in 2018. The company has built its strategy around a theme it calls “Travel+”, which treats a vehicle as a combination of mobility, travel and lifestyle rather than only a means of transport.
Jetour sales and global reach
The brand started out in China with box-style SUVs, a category it pioneered there. Its models combine off-road ability, practical space and long-distance comfort, aimed at both urban commuting and longer journeys. Products are now available in over 100 countries and regions, and Jetour ranks first in box-style SUV sales in 13 countries.
In South Africa, Jetour has become one of the top 10 best-selling automotive brands within two years of operating locally. Under its “In Somewhere, For Somewhere, Be Somewhere” philosophy, it is also expanding into Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Jetour technology and product range
Its range is split into the T-Series and G-Series. Core technologies include XWD Fully Automatic Intelligent 4WD, the GAIA All-Terrain Intelligent Architecture and the C-DM Super Hybrid system, which the company says it is making available to more drivers across its line-up.
Conservation and community programmes
Beyond the vehicles, the brand runs conservation partnerships. In Africa it works with Discovery and the Cheetah Conservation Fund, in Malaysia with TCS and PULIHARA, and in Pakistan it has launched the Markhor Conservation Programme to protect rare wildlife and habitats.
Sport and culture form another strand, through the “Travel+” Carnival, Global Fan Festivals, a football club, an international marathon and FIBA. Locally, Jetour South Africa hosts music festivals, rugby experiences and 4X4 days for owners.
Technology Experience Day and South African launch
The 2026 Jetour Global Technology Experience Day takes place in Wuhu, China, from October 20 to 23 under the theme “Future Travel Starts Now”. Guests will travel through cities, mountains and wetlands, including drives through the bamboo forests of Moganshan and a visit to crested ibis conservation work at Xiazhu Lake.
For South Africa, the T-Series and G-Series are scheduled to launch in 2027. More information is available at www.jetour.co.za.
