The Kia PV5 Passenger 7-seat is now eligible for the UK Government Electric Car Grant (ECG), which reduces its on-the-road price in the UK by £1 500 across the range. The grant applies to the ‘Essential’, ‘Plus’ and the recently introduced top-spec ‘Elite’ grades.

The fully electric people mover uses a 2-2-3 seating configuration across three rows. Dual sliding side doors and a 399mm step-in height give access to the second and third rows. Luggage capacity starts at 350 litres behind the third row and rises to 3 430 litres with the second and third rows folded.
Like all PV5 models, it is based on Kia’s E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service) platform. Legroom measures up to 1 041mm in the front, 977mm in the second row and 970mm in the third, with more than a metre of headroom in each row. Kia lists families, shuttle operators, ride-hailing services and airport transfers among its intended uses.
Battery, range and charging
In the UK, the PV5 Passenger 7-seat is offered only with the Long Range 71.2kWh battery, which gives up to 246 miles of range (WLTP combined). DC charging at up to 150kW takes the battery from 10 to 80% in under 30 minutes.
Kia models eligible for the grant
The Kia EV2, EV3, EV4 and PV5 Passenger are each available with the ECG, with selected grades qualifying for either the maximum Band 1 £3 750 grant or the Band 2 £1 500 grant. Kia says it is one of eleven brands offering fully electric cars with the maximum grant. The ECG criteria cover emissions, range, sustainability and warranty support, and require the manufacturer to hold SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) verification.

With the grant applied, the ‘Essential’ costs £35 495 on-the-road in the UK, down from £36 995. The ‘Plus’ costs £38 775, down from £40 275, and the ‘Elite’ £40 475, down from £41 975.
