Chinese carmaker Lepas has unveiled a concept car called Aura, giving it a world premiere at Global Elegance Night during the first Lepas Global Elegant Lifestyle Week on 22 October. The design study follows the brand’s “Natural Energy” philosophy and introduces a new design identity with room for personalisation.

Aura concept design inspired by the leopard
“Elegance is not a matter of decoration, but of composure,” said Ivan Dulanović, Chief Designer of Lepas. He named elegance, confidence and mystery as the three qualities behind the car, each expressed in its proportions, surfaces and details.
Designers studied how a leopard shifts its weight and holds tension in its muscles while resting, stalking or running. That work shows in the long wheelbase, short overhangs and wide stance. Pronounced shoulder lines suggest muscular strength, while flowing surfaces and the gaze of the headlamps add composure. The brand’s porcelain-inspired styling remains, with sculpted volumes and a glossy finish, and integrated air channels follow the body contours to guide airflow.
New Lepas front fascia and lighting
Up front, the rounded grille and side intakes of the original design are merged into one clean black surface. Leopard headlamps, shaped after the animal’s eyes, form the lighting signature. According to Dulanović, both the fascia and the headlamps will carry through to future Lepas models to create a consistent design language.
The fascia also serves as a front screen, where graphics, lighting and animations can reflect different styles and moods. At the back, an elliptical rear screen allows personalised taillight displays, while the car keeps a recognisable Lepas silhouette.

Three colours for the Aura concept
Each of the three paint finishes draws on a natural landscape at a different time of day. Dawn Pearl takes its soft pink tones from sunrise in Tahiti. Bacalar Blue, inspired by the midday waters of Bacalar Lagoon, shifts between deep blue and clear turquoise. Provence Twilight reflects lavender fields at sunset with deepening blue-violet tones.
No pricing, specifications or production plans were given for the concept. Lepas says its work on proportions, surfaces, lighting and colour will shape the design of the brand’s next generation of vehicles.
