Entries for the Fleet Safety Awards 2026 close on 12 October 2026, leaving fleets, drivers and organisations in South Africa only days to submit their road safety work. MasterDrive has added a Final Week Prize Bonanza to encourage last-minute entries.
Every day over the last six days before the deadline, all new entries are placed into a draw for a range of prizes. These daily prizes come on top of the chance to win a share of R250 000 in cash prizes.
MasterDrive on recognition for fleet safety
MasterDrive CEO Eugene Herbert urged organisations that have worked on fleet safety this year to enter. “Do not let it go unrecognised,” he said, adding that organisations should spend 30 minutes entering for cash prizes that can positively affect multiple lives.
Herbert said an entry also brings independent, judge verified recognition that an organisation gets safety right. “It is a form of validation no company can give itself,” he said. Entrants are recognised on stage at a gala awards ceremony attended by most of the industry, giving fleet managers and professional drivers a rare chance to be recognised by their peers.
What the Fleet Safety Awards judges want
Nishani Chetty, Joint Managing Director of Commercial and Brand, said judges want to see real change rather than good policies on paper. Entrants should explain what they did, what changed and the results that can be measured.
“Specific examples and real numbers count for far more than polished wording,” said Chetty. She added that, irrespective of final placings, a new entry will be drawn every day to win an additional prize.
Fleet Safety Awards 2026 categories
Entries are open for Best Fleet Manager, Best Organisations and Road Warrior, each in LCV, MCV and HCV classes, along with Most Improved Truck Stop, the Sustainability Leadership Award and the Sustainability Innovation Award. Bus operators have their own Best Fleet Manager, Best Organisation and Road Warrior categories.
How to enter before the deadline
Entries can be submitted at fleetsafetyawards.co.za on or before 12 October 2026. New entries received during the final six days are automatically included in the daily prize draws.
