McLaren has confirmed that the 750S, introduced in 2023 as the successor to the 720S, will end production in 2027. Final orders for the car are now being taken.
The 750S sits at the core of the McLaren supercar line-up, and its retirement comes a decade after the introduction of the 720S. Together with the 765LT and the newly revealed 788HS, the two cars cover ten years of lightweight, V8-powered McLaren supercars built on the same platform.

McLaren 720S and the start of the platform
The 720S introduced a new generation of lightweight, V8-powered McLaren supercars, with new design, engineering and aerodynamic principles. Cars from the lineage went on to win awards on the road and races in international GT racing and the World Endurance Championship.
The 720S was named Top Gear Performance Car of the Year and Evo Car of the Year in 2017, and World Performance Car at the World Car Awards in 2019.
What changed for the McLaren 750S
The 750S followed a detailed analysis of the 720S. Thirty percent of its components are new or changed, making it more powerful, with 750PS, and lighter, at 1 277 kg dry. It is also quicker than the 720S, gained new technologies and has an updated, more driver-focused cabin.
Its awards include Top Gear Performance Car of the Year in 2024 and Robb Report Car of the Year in 2025.
MSO personalisation and limited derivatives
Through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), 750S buyers can still specify their cars to their own requirements. MSO has used the 750S for its own limited and one-off commissions, including the 750S with 3-7-59 Theme and Project Viva by MSO.
The platform also underpins limited-volume derivatives, including the track-focused 765LT and, more recently, the 788HS, which is to be made in 200 examples through a bespoke commission programme at MSO for each client.

Final orders for the McLaren 750S
Henrik Wilhelmsmeyer, Chief Commercial Officer of McLaren Automotive, said the 750S “represents everything that defines a McLaren supercar” and that “it will leave behind an extraordinary legacy.”
Final orders for the 750S are being taken now, ahead of the end of production in 2027.
