- Electric estate concept for Paris Motor Show.
- Show runs from October 12 to 18.
- All-wheel drive, top speed over 200 km/h.
- 285/35 R22 Goodyear tyres on three-section alloys.
- Cameras replace conventional wing mirrors.
Unveiled as a preview of future estate cars, the STX Concept is a show car that Opel will display at the Paris Motor Show, held from October 12 to 18. The name stands for Sports Tourer eXperimental, linking the study to the brand’s Sports Tourer models such as the latest Astra Sports Tourer.
Alongside the electric estate, the German manufacturer will give the GSE 27FE Formula E racing car its world premiere in Paris, while the Corsa GSE hot hatch, now on sale, makes its exhibition debut.
Opel Vizor and lighting on the STX
At the front, the Opel Vizor is taller and more prominent than on previous models, rather than following the slim faces of many electric cars. Vertical slanting lamellas form the outer edges of the lighting signature and fade towards the centre, where the illuminated Blitz sits within the Opel Compass.
The rear drops steeply, which frees up extra cargo space. Slim illuminated compass axes and an illuminated OPEL wordmark appear there, flanked by horizontal taillights that echo the lamella look. Glass light strips run from the C-pillars into the roof, illuminated STX lettering sits on the sides, and cameras replace the usual wing mirrors.
Active aerodynamics and all-wheel drive
Finished in silver and blue, the estate has a low silhouette, short overhangs and flared wheel arches, shaped for efficiency and stability at high Autobahn speeds. Three-section alloys wear 285/35 R22 Goodyear tyres.
An active aerodynamic system adapts to driving conditions. At the right speed, blue diffusers extend from under the rear and vertical bumper elements behind the wheels move outwards to reduce drag. The study uses an electric architecture with all-wheel drive and has a top speed of over 200 km/h.
Interior plans and estate heritage
Inside, the designers plan to develop the ‘Painting with Light’ theme of the 2023 Opel Experimental and the 2025 Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo, with immersive lighting and lightweight seats. The car carries elements that will appear on future Opel models.
The brand’s estate history dates back to the 1953 Olympia Rekord Caravan. “The study shows characteristic features that will be found in future Opel models,” said CEO Florian Huettl, who will present the concept with Rebecca Reinermann and Mark Adams at stand A42 in hall 4 on Monday, October 12, at 11.00 CEST.
