Journalists from the Automotive and Motorcycle Media Association (AMAM) have voted the Peugeot E-T16 Concept the best concept car of the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
The award goes to a vehicle that reinterprets one of the best-known models in the French brand’s history for an electric era. The judges recognised the concept for the way it reworks that icon through its design, its technology and its approach to driving.

A tribute to the Peugeot 205 T16
The concept marks the 40th anniversary of the back-to-back World Rally Championship titles won by the Peugeot 205 T16. It takes the most distinctive design cues of that rally car and presents them in a modern form.
Athletic proportions, its overall architecture, distinctive lighting signatures and assertive styling all refer back to the original, one of the best-known cars in motorsport history.
Electric drivetrain and future E-208
Power comes from an 816 hp electric drivetrain. The show car also carries next-generation immersive technologies and serves as a showcase for the brand’s thinking on high-performance mobility.
According to Peugeot, its innovations give a glimpse of the next generation of the company’s electric vehicles. The brand describes it as a vision of the future Peugeot E-208 in terms of design, performance and driving pleasure.

E-T16 cockpit and Steer-by-Wire
Peugeot Sport teams worked on the project, which places driving engagement at the centre. Inside, the cockpit combines the Hypersquare steering control with Steer-by-Wire technology to change how the driver interacts with the car.
Together with its performance, these features are intended to reflect the brand’s promise of taking driving pleasure seriously. No production plans, pricing or availability for the concept were announced.
