- Four small electric models shown together.
- Almost 150 000 orders before deliveries.
- All four built on MEB+ platform.
- More than 80 per cent shared components.
- Built in Martorell and Pamplona, Spain.
The Volkswagen Group’s Electric Urban Car Family has been presented as a complete line-up for the first time at the Paris Motor Show. The CUPRA Raval, Volkswagen ID. Polo, Škoda Epiq and Volkswagen ID. Cross appeared side by side, and the group says almost 150 000 orders have been received for the four entry-level electric models before deliveries have begun.
The project was led by SEAT & CUPRA within the Brand Group Core, which combined the expertise of its brands and partners in a joint cluster for electric vehicles in the small car segment. The stated aim was to make electric mobility accessible to a larger group of customers.
Shared MEB+ platform for four models
All four models are built on the MEB+ platform, and more than 80 per cent of their components and technologies are identical. They share front-wheel drive, the electric drivetrain and batteries, and therefore efficiency and range. Design, driving experience, functionality and brand character remain specific to each model.
The Volkswagen ID. Cross has a combined energy consumption of 16.9 to 14.3 kWh/100 km and combined CO₂ emissions of 0 g/km. The Škoda Epiq is described as a near-production concept vehicle and is not yet available for sale.
Electric Urban Car Family production in Spain
The two hatchbacks, the CUPRA Raval and Volkswagen ID. Polo, are built in Martorell, while the two electric SUVs, the Škoda Epiq and Volkswagen ID. Cross, are built in Pamplona. Thomas Schäfer, Member of the Board at Volkswagen Group, CEO of Volkswagen Brand and Head of Brand Group Core, said: “Our sites in Martorell and Pamplona produce all four models as one strong Iberian production region. Almost 150,000 orders confirm this path.”
SEAT & CUPRA, Brand Group Core, PowerCo and the partners of the Future Fast Forward initiative are investing a total of ten billion euros in Spain. This includes PowerCo’s battery cell factory in Sagunto and an additional 300 million euros from SEAT & CUPRA for the battery system assembly plant in Martorell. SEAT & CUPRA has invested three billion euros in total in the move from combustion engines to electric mobility.
From IAA prototypes to Paris debut
At IAA Mobility 2025 the vehicles were shown as heavily camouflaged prototypes and show cars. After their individual world premieres, the four models now appear together as one family. The release does not give prices, and further details on each model are available from the respective brand media sites.
