- Third consecutive ‘Most Reliable Vanmaker’ title.
- Award from the 2026 Fleet News FN50 report.
- Based on downtime, reliability and warranty data.
- Transporter, Crafter and Caddy placed third to fifth.
- More than 70 Van Centres in the UK.
For the third consecutive year, the 2026 Fleet News FN50 report has given the ‘Most Reliable Vanmaker’ title to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. The result is drawn from data supplied by fleet companies across the UK, and it means the brand keeps the award it has now held since 2024.
How the Fleet News FN50 ranking works
The FN50 report ranks the UK’s 50 largest contract hire and leasing companies and gathers responses from fleet managers on their experiences with their vehicles. Its findings rest on measures such as vehicle downtime, reliability issues and warranty claims, and the van maker again came out on top across these.
Transporter, Crafter and Caddy in the top five
Beyond the overall award, three of the firm’s models were listed among the most reliable individual vehicles. The Transporter finished third, with the Crafter fourth and the Caddy fifth. While the overall title reflects the brand as a whole, these placings cover single models.
Rob Holdcroft, Head of Sales at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said the company was “extremely proud to be recognised as ‘Most Reliable Vanmaker’ in the FN50 rankings for the third year in a row”. He added: “Keeping our customers on the road is our top priority, and we’re delighted to see this dedication is acknowledged by our fleet customers.”
Volkswagen Connect Pro and aftersales support
Earlier this year, the manufacturer launched its Connect Pro platform in the UK, a digital fleet management and telematics system designed to support commercial customers. It sits alongside an aftersales programme intended to reduce hassle and keep operators’ vehicles working.
That programme includes the Volkswagen 5+ Promise package, fixed priced servicing and a network of more than 70 UK Van Centres. The current range spans the Caddy, Transporter and Crafter panel vans, dropsides and tippers, the Caravelle, the Caddy California, California and Grand California campervans, the all-electric ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo, and the Amarok. Further details are available at www.volkswagen-vans.co.uk.
