Adventure lovers can catch the Banff World Tour, a collection of short documentaries from around the globe. Cold Calls, a ski film built from conversations and memories, sits alongside The Book of George, which follows Brooklyn photographer George McKenzie Jr. as he trades a gun for a camera and finds his calling in the Everglades, photographing everything from city pigeons to elusive panthers.
Other films travel further afield. Dissidence tracks Indonesian twins Ravianto and Raviandi Ramadhan from Jakarta’s training walls to a route in Savoie, France, while Black Eyes meets 13-year-old Kharakoz learning eagle-hunting in Mongolia’s Altai Mountains. Jaunt and Flow Vision complete the programme, the latter following downhill skateboarder Ambroise on Europe’s toughest road. South Africans can see the tour at Ster Kinekor.
